Process "Web Of Lies"

The methods that I have used are very diverse.

I started with a simple foam board that was the mainstay for the entire installation.

The first thought was to show statistics using the example of a Spider's web. Against the background of that developments, the idea came up to make a 3D installation, looking into which you could see 2 layers.

It was decided to laser cut the second layer, since the two layers had to interact with each other. The effect of the bottom foam board being visible through the transparent laser cut board was created. Also, there are holders which were responsible for keeping the top statistics consisted of the same material as laser cut board.

The statistic that was formed at the top of the project is the most important.

The cobweb is a multi-colored threads that apply individually to each country.

As you can see from the photos above, there is a scale from 1 to 5 (as I mentioned earlier). The scale is located that 1 (smallest dots) is closer to the middle and 5 (biggest dots) is farther.

This is how we understand which countries are more prone to lies: those that are closer to the middle and more "entangled in the web".

The project began with rough lines that eventually turned into an installation. At the beginning, the project was divided into several questions, but later it was divided into categories, and the project was getting bigger and more interesting every day.

The manufacturing process took a couple of days. The board that was cut through a laser printer took 2 days to produce. Since, for such a project, a laser machine was required a little more than usual. The FabU Cafe in which I applied for services, brought my board from another district, where they do have a bigger laser machine. Printing the board and finding materials (buying) was one of the difficult stages of building, as it was difficult to find exactly the right and suitable materials. In the end, it took 2 days to process and glue/stitch all the materials.
