Typo : Letter form

MASJID JAMEK MOSQUE

One of my main projects is to create my own font based on the selected object. As I have mentioned many times already, this is the Masjid Jamek mosque. At one of the lessons we learned the Letter form where I understood how to create my own font and how interesting it might be. So the first thing that I did was to divide the mosque on several parts and try to find some interesting details that may be similar with letters :

I did the same with Masjid Jamek. Naturally, I was at this mosque and took pictures for myself. And based on that, I created my collages in a sketchbook. And that's what happened as the font was created :

While I was inventing my own font, I began to notice that really letters can be seen everywhere. Almost every thing outlines the letters. And as it turned out, it is not so easy, to invent a font for the mosque. Of course, I couldn't bother and just use the Arabic font. But still, if you don't try, how can you somehow improve your skills? Therefore I worked on this project for a very long time. And at the end I got what I liked. The letters turned out to be a bit complicated, but like all my projects, they turned out to be filled with small details, such as Muslim ornaments and patterns. In fact, not all letters are here, but this is not important because I have the right letters for my Typo. And you know what? I like my job! I think it's not so bad =)
