The main idea of interviewed person's stories was that sometimes a business can be so harsh and cruel. Sometimes to make more money you have to make sacrifices. And some decisions can affect the fate of people.
Good Business - Bad Person
Good business can ruin any relationship: friendship, family. The consequences can be dire. There are many movies that tell about such a business and work : 👉🏼
For example, in the movie New in Town, the main character had to dismiss half of the employees so that she, as the plant manager, could keep her director's place.
In the TV Show Suits, they describe in detail how every day lawyers have to sacrifice their position and sometimes they have to surrender to survive.
Why is it that people voluntarily work in companies that harm the world?
Because it’s hard to think about quitting a well-paid job simply because of a person’s values in the mirror. Instead of thinking about whether the work of our brain and hands really helps to incite evil, we regularly engage in various moral compromises in order to feel better.
But always in any situation there is a choice, we make the decision and the consequences will only be on our breast. We can close our eyes on our personal ethical compromises and do our work, regardless of the consequences.
Or we can also change something and stop this reckless business that sometimes makes us cross the line.
