GDC Week 2, Tutorial

The first thought that comes to my mind is beauty. Any person loves when he has beautiful things, stylish appliances. Things that is a TREND now. It’s also a comfort for somebody, because it’s possible to use electronic advanced things more conveniently. For example people buy new IPhone, new Laptop. Why?

Because every new device comes with a new idea and comfortable new technologies.

But this applies more to the new generation that is following the news and everytime following the trend and fashion. For companies this is like a competition as well, as if surpassing it.

After that I looked deeper and came to the conclusion that technology is not always good. You see? When we use mobile phone everytime or have lots of work with laptop - this is so bad our health! It has a bad effect on the future feelings. Will it be Okay or Bad?

There have even been protests against electronic machines and robots. Which I think I would support, but on the other hand it is still a development for future world. Do we need to stop now or we will have something more in our lives?

My 2 main points are fashion and attitude (show-off).

On the one hand it seems that I am protesting against design with such phrases, like "Wasting your money on fashion", but it vice versa!

I want to show people that Design it's not just a thing! It's not just a sketch or art, or painting. The meaning is really deeper than people think. Design can help people and environment. Design can show people the truth. Design can be more helpful and more meaningful. We just need some time to understand it and make it like that.

Now, after feedbacks I want to say that Fashion is going to be my first Manifesto!

Fashion Revolution is there!

Acquaintance with the Fashion Revolution movement finally put everything in its place. The mass market for the most part is a ruthless, brutal industry that poisons everything in its path. I said “cruel” for good reason: in addition to the fact that the fast fashion industry pollutes the environment, it exploits people in third world countries. I read that almost all clothes from Zara or H&M are sewn in inhuman conditions, mainly by women whose salary is less than the subsistence level.

The more I read about how cheap clothes are made, the less I wanted to have anything in common with this. The more I thought about how we relate to clothing, the more I wanted to change something.

Buying clothes may not cause such serious harm to nature if we wear this item at least 30 times.

We began to treat clothing not as an investment for many years, but as a consumable. While units did so, one could still close their eyes to this. But now there are already too many of us to buy cheap clothes, the production of which takes a huge amount of non-renewable resources, put them on a couple of times and throw them away.

This attitude to clothing will ruin our planet.

So the next step that I will research for my Protest Poster is FASHION REVOLUTION
