The more we study computer programs related to design, the more interesting! The truth is sometimes I am confused because I do not have time to catch the essence. But I'm sure I will improve my skills over time.
The lesson began with an interesting video whose topic was typography. The video contained very useful information, and we made notes:
Typography : Style of appearance of text.
Common types of fonts :
Serif
- Has an extra stroke
Sans Serif
- No extra stroke
- More clean and modern
- Easier to read in computers screens
Display fonts
- Small amount of text
- Titles and headers
Kerning
- Space between individual characters
Leading
- Space between lines and text
- Make your text as comfortable to read as possible
Hierarchy
- Guide the readers
Tracking
- Overall space between characters
Margin :
- Have to make sure there is margin before printing
- For things that you don't mind it being cropped off during printing
Columns :
- To section your pages into columns for for a cleaner and consistent layout
- example : 5 column system
- Fit images / texts into the colimns
InDesign is also a vector based program much the same as Illustrator, however InDesigns strengths really lie in its ability to handle multiple pages and create master pages, you can easily create book or magazine layouts with automatic page numbering and consistent templates on each page all linked to an editable master page.
InDesign is purely a page layout program, you can bring together all your artwork from Illustrator and Photoshop to create multiple page spreads and layouts. In recent versions of InDesign there are a lot more interactive output options, you can generate e-books for devices like a Kindle, you can also create layouts for viewing on tablets like the iPad, you can even add in video and export interactive PDF files.

In the lesson we were given a brief introduction to the Adobe InDesign program and showed by example how and what to use. In fact, I really like the combination of black and white. But of course I will learn to use and combine also other multicolored colors. In these works, I decided to show different types of lines. That is, it bends in the first, and clear and straight in the second.
