Week 9. Consumerism

Today's lesson was going well. We learnt very useful topic that will help us in a future. Advertising and how it does utilize the CONSUMERISM. Advertising today has become an integral part of human being and society. It can be found not only on television and radio, but literally everywhere - on large and small banners, on various sites, on poles, fences and asphalt, inside buildings and vehicles and on them, in the subway and at bus stops, etc. Advertising is a discourse with a huge diffuse ability, able to penetrate other discourses and socio-cultural practices, enrich both media and architectural and other spaces with its presence, shine through them, change their symbolic content to please their goals, gently hint, to manipulate and call. Where there is anthropic being, there is the opportunity to place an advertisement. And for today's lesson we had 2 questions that we were going to answer :

Our group, as always, consisted of the same girls with whom we get along very well and we have our own contact and approach to tasks. Example of advertising in 1920's was Cigarette. And especially cigarettes calls "Lucky Strike". For their advertising they used very interesting approach : animate creature, songs, the image of a successful man who lights a cigarette or the image of a sexy woman who when she smokes looks very attractive.

We also found a video of the ad itself that they created in the 1950th

In conclusion, our presentation was to explain how advertisers are forced to promote their product in any way, regardless of the usefulness of the product. It may not be useful, or even harmful to health.

Later, when I surfed the Internet for consumer information, I found a very interesting picture. So it turns out that this is true. We live to work, earn, spend, consume, and then die.
