First, I want to start from my culture that inspired me.

Baursak is a traditional dish for celebrations and different event such as Wedding, Anniversary, Kyz Uzatu ( girl's Wedding ), Kudalyk ( when couple in love wants to get married and their families meet each other for the first time) and etc. For every celebration or even when guests arrived we cook Baursak to treat them.

So on, I started with the thing that Baursak is traditional dish not for only kazakh people but also for Turkic nations. It includes such countries as Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Azerbaijan and etc. At this point we can understand that I was focusing on Kazakh culture. Kazakhstan is a big country that has a huge territory and most of the territory is a Steppe. If you don't know what is that, just look at my Concept Map that is below :

As we now Steppe is a large area of unforested grassland where cattle can graze. Traditionally, Kazakhs migrated to look for pasturage as the seasons changed. In spring, summer and autumn, they lived in collapsible round yurts and in winter built flat-roofed earthen huts in the pastures. Kazakhs herd sheep, horses, cattle, goats, camels, and yaks. Although horses are the most valued animal, Kazakhs actually depend on sheep for their basic livelihood. Sheep provide milk, which is processed into butter, cheeses, and other dairy products; mutton, wool, and hide for clothes and tents; and dung for cooking and heating.

But horses play an important role in the life of Turkic people.

Thanks to horses, people could move between cities, ride a horse, carry goods and in those days they came up with horse games.

One of the game calls "Kyz Kuu"!

Kyz kuu or kyz kuumai, literally "girl chasing",is an equestrian traditional sport among Turkic peoples such as Azerbaijanis, Kazakhs and Kyrgyz. It exhibits elements of horse racing but is often referred to as a "kissing game".

A game is usually conducted as follows. A young man on horseback waits at a starting line. A young woman, also mounted, starts her horse galloping from a given distance behind the young man. When the young woman passes the young man, he may start his horse galloping. The two race towards a finish line some distance ahead. If the young man is able to catch up to the young woman before they reach the finish line, he may reach out to her and steal a kiss, which constitutes victory. However, if the young man has not caught up to the young woman by the time they reach the finish line, the young woman turns around and chases the young man back to the starting line. If she is in range of the young man, she may use her whip to beat him, which signifies a victory for her.
